I was thinking of bought as in, going to a technical school for 1 year to become MSCE certified but don't know a single thing about computers when you get out. But you are certified and therefore on a short list of candidates as soon as you apply for a job.
I have encountered quite a few of these people in my career. A good interviewer should weed these candidates out but that does not happen most of the time.
