While I agree that putting an "unsubscribe" link in the footer is
probably a good idea, I think we all agree that statements like this are
not:

Please stop making personal attacks on our mailing list. Doing so
lowers the quality of discussion dramatically and gives our community a
bad reputation.

It has to do with settings when joining the subscription. You can ask a
colleague who is on LUG, and check his email, u can create an email account and
subscribe with different options.

Additionally people such as Cavin who uber savvy in the 21st century
should know that detailed info is CONSPICUOUSLY displayed in the
headers of every post.
