Hello boss,
I had the same issue with my MTN Huawei 160 failing to read on ubuntu giving
same error. i have been following how colleagues have been advsing and trying
those commands as i follow the forum links they post but you will need a faster
internet connection cs its bandwidth intense cs i had to pay for the outage
caused at Web City Cafe today while it upgrades
i have used the follwing commands to my success..
sudo rm /var/lib/apt/lists/lock
sudo apt-get clean
sudo apt-get autoclean
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install usb-modeswitch
Good luck...u cant just give up like that, its caused by incomplete updates
None of us is as smart as all of us
