I believe it still on depends on the demand of Linux, the more people
using a product the more support will be required.
I remember some one on this list mentioning that the 'best' windows
administrators are as well Linux administrators. May advise though would
be not to mention alot about Linux skills if you go a Windows
administrative work, but when you are there, start slowly to market
Linux. In this we shall see more people demand for Linux. In my current
work place, there was no one using Linux as a desktop but because of my
inclusion on the work force, I can now brag of at least three persons
per year have asked me questions about Linux.
What is the trick? We people who have some Linux skills should posse as
windows administrators when need arises so that we ultimately market
Linux and subsequently increase the demand of Linux administrators.

It would be be up to us interested in Linux administration to go out and
offer it as an alternative to Windows. Windows is flourishing due in
part to ignorance about Linux technologies. If we pushed Linux harder
into the market, then the market would realize it's enormous advantage
over windows. Sometimes the best products are ignored because not enough
has been put in promoting them.

either backend or front end in Uganda in particular.
So, the question is, what's people's opinion with regards on the
demand for Linux in Uganda? is it rising? is it shrinking or
stagnant? And in effect, what is the demand for Linux
        administrators in the country?
