Dear Göran,

I have the same picture in my collection but ascribed to Agostino
Carracci (1557 - 1602) The original is in the Museum of Fine Arts in
Boston and my copy came from Early Music Vol 3 page 352 and is part
of an article by Bob Spencer on how to hold a lute: historical
evidence from paintings.

Best wishes,

david
