Indeed this Weiss might be Johann Sigismund Weiss. In one case he is even named as Jean Sigmund Weiss ... There are other non lute works of him in: Kassel (only incipits), Rostock, S-Harnösand (probably), S-Lund/Uppsalla, D-Herdringen, D-Karlsruhe (possibly).
