I use the following pitches professionally for baroque in order of frequency
415.3 // 413 The Baroque standard for baroque orchestras, whatever that means, ymmv (413: some older recorders at 413) 440 (Modern orchestras & 17th c. music, some big symphonies are a tad higher) 462-467 (Only 17th c specialists) 392 (some french, Italian, English, my preferred pitch for a "french Frey") 370 (Specialty French and English) Obviously, these are notch pitches. Maybe 392 sounds the best, but it is less common. dt At 05:59 AM 12/8/2007, you wrote: >72 @ 440/444. >RT > > >----- Original Message ----- From: "Nigel Solomon" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >To: <lute@cs.dartmouth.edu> >Sent: Saturday, December 08, 2007 8:55 AM >Subject: [LUTE] baroque lute pitch > > >>What pitch do people tune their baroque lutes to?
