This is a wonderful contribution and there is some great music here! I loved having all the versions of the pieces, so I could pick out the ones I liked best. Some of this is from one of my favorite manuscripts - CZ-pnm G. IV.18 and there are pieces from the Haselmere manuscript written by the same person (Retterwert). I have just borrowed the microfilm of the Haselmere manuscript from the LSA library and it is so much easier to just read off the music after John Robinson has done all the hard work. Yesterday I tried some of the pieces that needed the 10th course lowered to B flat - I didn't get a great sound considering how flabby the strings were when lowered a whole tone and will probably play those pieces with the low b flats up an octave.

Thanks so much for all the work on this and for posting it where we can all see it.
Nancy

I have updated my page on Charles de Lespine and John H. Robinson has completed
an edition of 30 pieces (with concordances and in French tablature) which is
now available for looking at or downloading.
