It's a splendid and spirited rant, but I think you must have me confused
with someone else, as I see zero threat from some piece of
Poetteringware to my personal ability to operate effectively with
privacy and choice.  In fact, I tend to severely mock the 'systemd is
being forced on me' crowd, as they are delusional and a bit pathetic.

I'm the guy who pointed out exactly how to (trivially) not use it on
Debian 8.0 Jessie, right here in this space, when asked how to do so.

Yes, and I detailed the exact apt-get commands to exercise that choice.
