It's a Qt bug. I've reported this:
The best we could do is the patch below.
The only problem I see with it is that the minibuffer
is not at a new line.
Because I'm the only one who works on this and I
don't wanna spend more time on this I've check in
the patch.
Thanks for doing this Peter. I have spent an awful lot of time trying
multiple combination of toolbar break and position without success. Now
I understand why.
