When is scons 1.0 to be expected?
This is by far the biggest problem with scons. The 0.96 series has been there for one year with a lot of small releases, but no 1.0 on the horizon. They recruited a release manager recently and that can hopefully change the situation a little bit. Actually, even if 1.0 == 0.96.94, more people will use it.
I don't care much about what the replacement is, and I think I personally could even live with a solution along the lines of 'use system Foo for daily work, and Bar for "make dist" & Co.'
This is what I am doing now. scons for daily work, make for make dist. Because I do not do the second part, I do not care. :-) Bo
