Just tried and seems to work. You just need to export with "ssconvert -T Gnumeric_html:latex in.gnumeric out.tex", so to get also the table formatting that you set-up in gnumeric, then import in LyX through the "Insert->File->Child Document", specifying as "Type" of import the voice "Input".
So, probably the only "functionality" that might be added to LyX could be an in-line preview of the file (isn't it automagic if you set-up the entire .gnumeric->.tex->.eps filetrs chain ?), plus the automatic opening of gnumeric when you click or double-click on the preview. T.
