It doesn't help. It works if the environment changed to Part* instead of Part. So in Part* it is possible to have a clean page without page number, but Part would be difficult. And to me the error message is unusual as it is pointing to TeX capacity exceeded? Perhaps for the time being I can use Part* for a quick solution. Regards / was
