I give up. I have now upgraded my RPM build machine's compiler to gcc-3.2. This is a redhat-6.0(!!!) system. It needed a plethora of other libraries, but it worked without a major redhat release upgrade. I was able to run the same binary on a redhat-6.1 system by installing some of the files in the ftp://ftp.sylvan.com/pub/lyx/devel/SYSTEM directory. Best regards, ---Kayvan -- Kayvan A.
