That's exactly what I am doing when initializing the cursor par with the 'invalid' value -1 and issue warnings if the cursor is accessed in such a state. The 'band aid' would be to set it to 0. This **** assert currently in LyXText::getPar() is my doing after all. Good to know you know what you are talking about. Andre'
