As regards official cygwin packages, I think that they require that the package is compilable from sources, so perhaps providing the patch to the Qt3 sources and a qt library ready for linking is maybe sufficient.
It is been confirmed that there is some problem with the current cygwin/thread code, not qt3. This makes me wonder if even a standalone qt lib will work. I have just tried to downgrade cygwin to 1.18 by overwriting my cygwin directory with files from cygwin-1.18 whatever. qt designer works well but many other packages are broken now. It is very strange to me that there is no easy way to install an older version of cygwin. Cheers, Bo
