Why that? You can remove the old installed LyX version easily by its
uninstaller.
There is no uninstaller for the LyX 1.3.7 official installer.

That is strange. I have four official versions in different
directories, 3 for LyX1.4.x and 1 for 1.3.7. They all have an
uninstall.exe located in the installation directory, top level,
although they are not exactly the same size. Use Dos command line.
I would prefer an entry for both LyX1.3.7 and LyX1.4.x in
Control Panel, Add/Remove programs, I only have one entry.
