I've never been happy with LyX/beamer, so I either make my presentations in LibreOffice, or in Beamer using Vim. Everyone uses LyX for circumstances where they find it the best tool, and use other software for other purposes. And I want to thank the developers for the software with which I put out about 8 books over 13 years. The LyX developers materially improved my business.
