The article linked to in this thread did have some info about switching. No need to do any CALL do disable. Everything off, select a ROM. The previous ROM name is still in the MENU. Just arrow to it and [Enter] to execute the chosen ROM. Once you exit, the new selection is in MENU.
Tested it with Disk+ in socket 2 and SR in socket 1. Started with dial selecting 2 and got Disk+. Shut it all off an dialed in SR at 1. Turn it all on, select Disk+ (I know) in MENU, and up comes SR. [F8] to MENU and Super now in MENU. Not as clean as I'd like it, but it is working.
