Hello,
I used to use a qwerty keyboard on my phone. I recently moved to the Nexus4
and so have been working without a keyboard for a while. What I find is that
although the Google keyboard is quite useful, I rarely end up typing at all. I
tend to use the speech recognition capabilities of the phone almost
exclusively. There is a voice-search button on the home screen that allows me
to send text messages without typing, and the keyboard itself has a 'voice
input' key that will transcribe your speech into the open text area. The
caveat is that when actual typing is necessary, it is definitely slower for me
than a physical keyboard.

Let us remember what Chairman Mao *did*: The murder of 78 million innocent
people, excluding war casualties.

Brian.

Maybe I am a little late for this discussion.
When I bought my Samsung Galaxy SIII I decided to buy a bluetooth querty
keyboard and use it while getting used to the touch screen. I still use it shen
I am browsing or looking for something in the Playstore.
I have mentioned before that I use mostly now MA as screenreader for Talkback
as then I have a more easy access to all the possibilities of the phone and the
software works as normally. But MA as a basic system also works well even there
are some programs which do not function normally when MA is used instead of
Talkback.
One of the irritating thing with Talkback is the fact that you cannot use some
additional characters like ü (German) and the Icelandic characters, á, é, í, ó,
ý ú, when using the touch screen. Then you need the physical keyboard. MA has
now brought forward an Icelandic touch screen keyboard with all the special
character, but then the physical keyboard doesn't work.

Let us remember what Chairman Mao said: "The ideas come from the masses".
Therefore we should discuss new ways and progress.
