Hi Glenn,

The diameter of the 4S lends was increased along with a nearly tripling in
resolution (8MP vs 5MP). To help explain why 8 is nearly three times greater
than 5, remember your exponents and consider a square inch with five dots per
inch. You would need 25 dots (5*5) to fill that space. Now, if you wanna
increase the resolution to 8 DPI you'd need to come up with 64 pixels instead.

Because of this change in specs, a case designed for use with an iPhone 4 will
not work for a 4S unless you don't mind black edges around your pics.
Conversely, a 4 will fit a 4S case since the only difference would be a larger
aperture hole.

HTH.
Geoff

Also, I want to make sure, does the iPhone 4S only have a 5 mega pixel
  camera, like my 4G?
If so, I will not upgrade until the iPhone 5 comes out next spring.

does the i-phone 4 s have the same hardware design as the i-phone
4, meaning the power button at the top right hand corner, the
volume and mute buttons on the left edge when the earpiece is
  facing up at the top?
