You are definitely not running iOS - that is the iPhone/iPad etc. OS.

Entering Mac OS 10.9 into Google brought up a Wikipedia page confirming that
this is Mavericks .
Google is your friend to find out these sorts of things.

Thanks David, my friend and myself can see that we are running iOSx 10.9.2 
but we cannot find if it is Mavorix or otherwise.  We have looked in About 
and she has gone in to something else that I do not know anything about. 
How then can we do this?
