Hi Sarah,
Last week Eleanor posted:
If you are looking for an OCR solution at a reasonable price, Sam Jewell
has designed a stand to get exact distance from camera to the print
page. Have a look at Sam's video here. I put his contact detais below
the link for anyone interested.

This is a light-weight portable stand (cardboard reinforced with a plastic
coating?) for OCR with an iPhone. Unlike the StandScan Pro, there is no
lighting source, but it sounds as though it would fold down more for easy
carrying. Anne asked about pricing information, and I found his Twitter
page in which he said $45. Anne ordered in Euros, shipped to France, and
said she would report back. They have a web sign-up page for more
information, but they're not really set up to do more than take email
addresses:

I'm a bit behind the times here. What is this product of which you
speak? I'm curious.
Take care and have a lovely thursday.

Hello everyone,
My Giraffe Reader arrived today. It’s amazingly light and small, and is
easy to erect and fold away again. Below my signature is a paper I
scanned using TextGrabber with flash on. The paper is an English exam
for French nursing students.
Cheers,
Anne
