Hello Sarah,

Esther has described the Giraffe Reader very well. It is extremely light and
measures 26 cm by 21 cm or about 10.5 in by 8.5 in. It isn’t as stable as the
StandScan Pro but is even more portable. I can see myself using it in
restaurants to read the menu, which would be rather difficult with the
StandScan Pro. I now have both products and can see uses for both of them.

One thing about the Giraffe Reader is that it was designed for blind users and
therefore qualifies for free shipping. It takes longer to arrive (mine took 6
days from across the channel) but it means that you don’t have to add anything
to the basic price.

I’d recommend using the Giraffe Reader with Prizmo as you can take your hands
away before the picture is taken, thereby avoiding the risk of shaking the
iPhone. However, it works for me whether I use Prizmo or TextGrabber.

Cheers,

Anne
