Hello Matthew,

In Pages, always make sure that Quick Nav is off.

Interact with the various text areas and navigate just with the arrow keys. The 
placeholder text should be automatically highlighted as you navigate to it and 
will disappear as soon as you start typing.

If ever you hear a wooshing sound and VoiceOver announces that you’ve moved 
something, do the opposite of what you did, move left if you move right, etc. 
Then, press Return followed by Cmd-z. This isn’t a VoiceOver bug, it’s a 
general one, but a nuisance nonetheless.
