Hi Will, all

I think that what has kept Apple in business is knowing who it is selling to
and what they want. It has been when Apple doesn't know or can't decide what
to do that times get dark.

If you look at the number of products that have been in production at any
given time in Apple's history, they have been most successful when the
fewest number of different products best satisfy people's wants and needs.
When Apple is not focussed on a few things, it has done poorly.

If Apple lowered prices, they would be selling to a different market. I
would not pay $800 for a PC, and would rather pay more for a Mac that works
well. Lowering prices reduces Apple's ability to hone their current products
and develop new ones which impress us more than the ones we are using.

Apple has been around because it has innovated. Quality products that are
innovative deserve to fetch a higher price.

It would be nice to get a Ferrari for the same price as a Ford, but they are
different products for different markets IMO.

79% of people buy PC's you say. There's more of them, so they're cheaper and
better. I wish you could see the Dells that we have to get serviced at work,
and think of how long you use your Macs before having to get them serviced.
You don't have to be an MCSE to install even OS X.

BTW, I haven't seen the cool commercial you talk about. I do see a lot of
Apple billboards where I live though.
