Apple has shot itself in the foot so many times that's it's now working
on its knees. Hardly a position to be nimble and quick from when
maneuvering in a shrinking market place.

I pretty much owe the beginnings of all my success to that little box I
bought back in '84 and was allowed access to the world of word
processing. Apple was brilliant and innovative at one time, and there
are still fitful nostalgics that are stirred up, but they are now
selfish, stodgy and loutish--which I date back to the arrival of the
king of Pepsi sales.

Their recall of clone licenses is an example of how they acted when
someone else became more profitable and innovative. Did they do a
better job after they dumped those manufacturers and had a once again
captive market?

What is the reason for not now recognizing non-Apple drives and such?
Are they going to spur sales of their over-priced apple-stamped
products available to all of us from the same manufacturers at half the
price? Do they intend to punish and frustrate us for thinking
independently and not sending all our dollars tothem in CA? Every move
to keep us confined and handled is an insult to the original promises of
the Macs.

I have been loyal through all of this--and god, do I hate pc's. Watching
some bozo speed around a desert at his desk forever is my idea of the
7th circle of hell... But that's what sells right now and my loyalty is
insignificant.

I wish Apple the best, but bad management decisions really decide the
issues, not what we hope.

I'm sorry I'm cynical. I don't want to be, but Apple made me do it.
