Just my 2c worth; I have a Performa 5200 with a LC PDS ethernet adapter
(Shaw@Home installed it for free when I hooked up a few million years
ago) and have never had any problems either using it with my Linksys
router to connect to the net or copy files to/from my G4; it also worked
fine with a crossover ethernet cable direct to the G4. The Linksys is an
autosensing switch.
