Well, I tried to! It's supposed to be the advertised US price in $ -
which is always excluding local sales tax, of course - compared with
the VAT -EXClusive price; so in the case of the 12" iBook it was $999
(all day) compared with �637.45 (this morning) and �594.89 (this
afternoon). That comes to �1 = $1.567 this morning, and �1 = $1.679
this afternoon. Then VAT is added on top, of course.
