Has the Mini had an impact on prices yet? I know that it's not a laptop (though arguably it is very portable) but it does offer a lower-cost way into new Mac computing than has ever been available before. I've always thought that some, at least, of the take up for the older Powerbooks was because they were a good starting-point.

I have a G3 Powerbook, the 233MHz Wallstreet version, 6GB drive, 256MB RAM, which runs Jaguar; it is pretty slow by today's standards, but it's a nice laptop. I think you'd pay about 400 for a Lombard, which has USB (and FireWire?). I have my wi-fi, USB and FireWire on cards that I bought separately along the way. My basic Wallstreet was around the 220 mark a year or more ago.
Lombards are around 200 - 250 now, more for the rare 400MHz, no firewire.
Pismos are around 300, more for the rare 500MHz, with firewire.
