Hi all
Couple of technical issues you may be able to help me with:
1 I have a decent size library of music in iTunes (Version 4.7.1) on my eMac (running Panther, work) including mp3s, songs burned off CDs I own, and albums bought from the iTunes music store. Recently got a nice iMac DV at home (running 9.2.2, home) and wanted to transfer my library.
So ... got my 20gb iPod with the full library on board, installed basic iTunes (early 2001 version, probably 1.1 or something - I'm typing this at work so can't recall the exact version), downloaded a utility to extract the music of the iPod onto the iMac ... and hit a problem. While I've got all the music *off* the iPod, iTunes on the iMac will only import mp3s - not m4ps, m4as and all the other variations.
Do I need to download a later version of iTunes? Or is there no basic way of converting these formats to a format iTunes on the older machine will read under OS9?
2 Bought a decent external Lacie CD-RW (firewire) drive for the iMac. Came with toast lite, although the iMac already has Diskburner on board. Tried to burn songs off two albums into iTunes last night and on both, things went pear-shaped after about 4 songs, throwing up a 'Mac OS error'? Have found some suggestions online about disabling firewire authoring support which I will take a look at this evening - anyone had this problem and got any other suggestions?
cheers
Russ
