Do I need to download a later version of iTunes? Or is there no basic way of converting these formats to a format iTunes on the older machine will read under OS9?
A later version might do it if there is one.
"Unprotected" AAC files (m4a) can be converted on the eMac by setting the import encoder to Mp3, you control-click on the songs you want to convert and click "convert to Mp3".
There is a way with protected AACs (m4p) but its rather long winded and you shouldn't do it as its probably in violation of the iTunes Music Store rights agreement "thingy".
Perhaps you should consider getting a set of Panther CDs off ebay when Tiger is released and everyone rushes to upgrade. ;)
