Thanks everyone for your input, it's greatly appreciated.

I know what some of you are say and i agree with it. But it doesn't hurt to ask does it?

I use my B/W for designing and maintaining my websites, so i would need something that can do that. I'd like to have OSX installed and definitely not 10.1 as i have that on my 8500 using the Sonnet PCI X software and boy do i really think 10.3 is a marked improvement!! I'm in the process and trying to get 10.2, as i hear it much better.

The Toshiba laptop i have has been good to me, it has a Celeron 466Mhz inside and it runs Window 2000 and XP pretty well. The laptop is great for when i restricted to the bed, because of my disability i sometimes find i have to spend time laid up resting. So having a laptop instead of day time TV is a life saver. But after a year and a bit of Apple Mac's, i would really like to go for an All out Apple setup. And the PB165 isn't really the replacement laptop i had in mind for my Toshiba :-P

I was told the Lombard 400 would be a more affordable laptop, compared to an IBook or a Pismo.

I've seen the Pismo's going for £250-300 and i simply can't afford that.

Many thanks to everyone. I suppose for now, i'm better off sticking with the Toshiba. Or some way down the road, selling the B/W G4 to fund a new PC laptop

Regards
James

- Download ISO
- burn ISO
- boot from CD
- go trough the easy install guide
- reboot

done

Right now I'm installing Yellow Dog Linux on an old Beige G3 which is a LOT more work.

I have a 400mhz PowerBook (pismo) and a 400mhz Dell, both running Ubuntu Linux,

How easy/difficult was it getting ubuntu to work on the Pismo?
