mmmm. Never really deal with absolutes. especially when BT are
concerned, but yes ethernet is ethernet and is tried and tested and
works/
On this subject, I have to say that If i were choosing an ISP again,
i really think i would go with Demon.
BT have a really crap service, too expensive and have a usage cap (ok
it is 30 gb in my case but 27.99 for 30 gb or 27.99 for unlimited
with option for fixed IP? Which would you choose)
Both offer a free modem/router (ok 1 ethernet port on the BT router,
but is is a good router).
Usually you can ask for a wireless router for an extra cost, not
entirely sure what that is but i would expect the upgrade cost to be
less than buying a new one.
I think.
OT: Anyone used Remote Desktop Connection on their mac (Im talking
specifically about the microsoft product) It is so weird to look at
my studio display and see a windows desktop looking back at me...

As long as you use any router with a wireless/ethernet connection,

Any ISP should be fine as long as you use a proper ADSL modem/
router and avoid USB like the plague.
Not so much should as will. The 'signal' that comes into the house
will be the same whichever ISP they use. However they'll normally
be given (or sold) a cheap USB modem and, because these require a
driver, some aren't compatible with Macs (but some will work fine).
An Ethernet modem will always work with a Mac as Ethernet is
supported in the OS. You can combine the modem with a router and/or
wireless base but it's not essential to be connected and they can
be added separately.
