Hi Richard
Yes I still have the Mail library folder with everything in it from
10.3.9 but...... I understood the Mail application in 10.4 to have
different mailbox structures, so I figured a straight swap was not
likely to be a good thing to try. Shoot me down in flames if I am
wrong :0\
The old OS is on another disc in the G4 I am working on and I have
full admin permissions and have checked that permissions are correct.
What do you think of the idea of removing the Mail folder, or its
contents, and seeing if it refreshes?
In the mail box margin I currently have the following:
Inbox - containing separate boxes for each active account [proper icon]
Drafts - [proper icon]
Sent - [proper icon] POP generated mail goes here but not IMAP, it
refuses to save
Trash - [proper icon]
Drafts - [generic folder icon]
Junk - [generic folder icon]
Sent messages - [generic folder icon]
Trash - [generic folder icon]
Nothing else
Drew

To ask the obvious Drew...do you still have a copy/copies of
the .mbox files
located in ~/Library/Mail/names.mbox from the 'other' disk that you
can
simply replace the current ones with?
Do you have admin rights with the user you are trying this
with...or at
least have you corrected the permissions for the folders you create
there to
reflect the proper states?
