[mac] Aqua 2.4: no space between words in spreadsheet with Geneva font

I downloaded OpenOffice.org-2.4.0_en-GB.dmg (Aqua) from good-day  
today. As in 2.3, I have the problem that when I open a spreadsheets  
using the Geneva font (mostly 9), spaces between words disappear in  
the document, but not when I change everything to Helvetica. In the  
X11 version (still 2.3, and earlier) and in the Aqua dialog line, the  
spaces are present

BTW, the same was true with Aqua 2.3...
