Dear OOo-Mac community

Shouldn't we complain just a little bit with Apple about the newest Leopard
update (no.5) that seems to make it impossible to run X11 and OOo?

Hi Guy,

Actually we should complain about the problem with X11 on Leopard in general. It usually requires installing the XQuartz version of X11 to get OO.o 2.4 to work – this applies for some other X11 applications as well. When an Leopard update is installed, it replaces the XQuartz X11 with Apple's X11. The user then has to reinstall XQuartz X11.

I just installed OO.o 2.4.2 on my MacBook. I have OS 10.5.5, XQuartz X11 2.3.1, and I applied Shaun's hack to 'main.scpt'. It installed and works fine.

I installed it so I could use it to export test files as PDF's to see if they caused the same freeze of my system as the one made with the developer Aqua version of 2.4.
Note: PDF's made with OO.o 2.4.1 X11 caused no problems.
