This is somewhat like the idea I was going to use. I'd write an 
Applescript to force a clean logout. The login script would call the 
Applescript, if the login was happening during a forbidden time, and 
schedule an "at" job to occur at the start of the forbidden time to 
force a logout.

The problem with this is that he knows little about scripting (shell, 
Applescript, Perl, or otherwise) and he lives in West Virginia. I don't 
want to debug it by phone or e-mail. Therefore, I wanted to know if the 
wheel had been invented before I started reinventing it.

Also, the machine can't be shut down since it's the cable modem gateway 
and print server for the rest of the house.
