Yes, in a way...
My problem turned out to be an incomplete and/or
  corrupt download of the subject file(s), AND with
  the Expander.app (free) I was using at the time.
Since you bought StuffIt Deluxe, the problem probably
  lies with the client file *download*, but I'm not certain.
As is frequently suggested, check that the d/l file type
  used is correct and matches the file itself.  That is to say,
  hexadecimal, binary, etc.   Maybe something will work.
