>>PLEASE address the issue of filenames that I raised earlier
Are these MacBinary files, zip files, or what? MacBinary has built-in
support for storing the original filename, as do other compressed
formats such as hqx or zip. Only if the original file-name is in the
data stream can IE get at it. Other possibilities would include a
problem in character mapping of the name, the protocol being used
(ftp/http). Do you have a particular URL that exhibits the bug? Perhaps
someoone on the current MacIE dev team can look at the headers being
passed with the file.

Interesting. Let me check this again - the guy that did the programming
mentioned that it does validate.
I'll get back to you on that.
(and can either of you PLEASE address the issue of filenames that I
raised
earlier, or at least suggest who WOULD know I *really* want to figure
out a
way to compensate for what appears to be an obvious bug, but without any
small help, I'll simply be forced to 'compensate' with a notice on the
website letting people with IE know that IE's broken - not my first
choice.
Point is, I don't think it's broken, because a similar PHP script on
SourceForge properly passes filenames to Mac IE. The download PHP script
on
the site give earlier does not. Without knowing what to look for, I
don't
know where to start. Help, please?
Harry
