I haven't setup a VPN, but I've used a number of them.  The VPN server software and/or 
hardware would be setup at your business so at home you will just have the laptop with 
the client software.  If you have a static IP DSL, you should have no problem with any 
VPN vendor.  Dynamic IP's (and PPPoE especially) are not supported by all VPNs so if 
that is what your DSL service will be, make sure your VPN will negotiate correctly 
with that type of connection.  Most newer systems will since that is the connection 
which most employees have at their own homes.

At home, the only thing you have to ensure is that your router allows the computers to 
make a proper VPN connection.  Most do have options to allow or block access.  I use a 
LInksys and in the advanced management screen you can turn off or on IPSEC pass 
through (and a few other different 'protocols').

Maybe someone else can provide details on the VPN vendors.  HTH.
