Hello MacNetworkers: I am trying to get my two Macs to talk to each other, but it isn't working. I have a Quadra 950 (OS 7.6.1) and 7100 (8.0) that are both connected to my church and school's LAN. The LAN is run by some sort of Windows box, and the rest of the machines are Windows boxen. Both have IP addresses manually configured in TCP/IP (for some reason our network doesn't use DHCP). Both can get on to the internet fine.
I want to share files from my 950 to the 7100. I have file sharing turned on on the 950. When I go to the chooser and choose Appleshare, it asks me to enter the IP address of my server. I enter the IP address of the 950, and clcik "connect". I then get a message saying there was no response. What am I doing wrong? What do I do to make it right?
