yes, for many routers this is the case. However, according to the guy on site, the new router that is being installed (a Cisco, but I don't know which one) does NOT route appletalk. And in fact I own a router like that. The 4 port hub built into one of my DSL modems will not transfer AppleTalk either. Not even between ports on its built in hub. Since the router won't pass Appletalk, and the router is being used to break the LAN into segments, I need a way to transfer AppleTalk info between segments on the router.
