Must have a manual somewhere around. Mail me OL if you want it.

I believe (just to nitpick and be "technical"), they are actually TeleTalk (or PhoneNet if you use the Farallon name) connectors. LocalTalk was a style made (primarily) by Apple that used a 3 wire cable and didn't need terminators (they were built into the adaptor, although some versions of the TeleTalk also had terminators built in). AppleTalk is the protocol that runs over the connectors.

PhoneNet is the commonly used name. There are a bunch of names, one for each vendor just about. Farallon had the first LocalTalk over phone wiring scheme. It was derived from plans developed at UC Berserkley.

LocalTalk applies to both the physical wiring and the electrical signals. PhoneNet uses the LocalTalk electrical signals.

However, commonly, they were all just refered to as LocalTalk connectors. Most people didn't pay attention to the difference between the phone cable style and the "Apple" 3 wire style.

MiniDIN-3 is the type of connector.

But it can be important to know the difference between the two. If you asked someone that has both if you can have one, you might end up with the wrong style.

There are adapters which connect from one to the other (it's just a connector change.
