Slight amendment, you can do this using a "Cross-over" ethernet cable, or buy two ethernet cables and a small hub or switch [either will work, DealMac.com lists them often for under $20 for a 5-8 port one]. Using a straight ethernet cable [regular] will not work.

Oh ok, I knew I could use a crossover with 9 and I thought I read somewhere I had to use a hub with X. Thanks!
