although i just dumped spamaol observations below. between spam, lack of
address and mail management in 4.0 and unstable 5.0 i dumped spamaol
after 10 years, for davisp.com for less $, only bad thing is you have to
have os 10.2.8 and java 1.4.1.

if you have a router you have a lan, try setting up as lan to see if it
will hold. If you set up as lan it should not interfere with tcp/ip
settings. it appears that now, you are logging in and aol has control of
modem/tcp. when you restart the computer resumes control until you start
aol with current (aol) setup. setting to lan should resolve problem.
