Apple: Iraq crisis hurting sales
By ron carlson, Insanely Great Mac
February 24th 2003
The mothership, other IT firms weigh on the effects of the coming war
Bloomberg reports that Apple and other IT companies say the threat of war with Iraq is
exacerbating a slump in technology spending, making forecasting harder.
The report quotes the CEOs of Agilent, J.D. Edwards and Ingram Micro last week as
saying the risk of terrorism and a possible US attack on Iraq are keeping enterprise
customers from purchasing software, hardware and consulting services.
Apple stated in its US Securities and Exchange Commission filing earlier this month
that the threat of terrorist attacks and war has damped sales.
Editor's note: This story is a reheat. Perhaps the real question hanging pregnantly is
when will the Pentagon report their quarterly results? And, will they report a loss?
