Apple's PowerSchool Closes Utah Support Center

As PoweerSchool undergoes restructuring, Think Secret reports that PowerSchool has
laid off support staff, based in Layton, Utah. The office will reportedly cease
operations at the end of this month. Its functions include a call center and service
and implementation for PowerSchool.
PowerSchool's staff was reduced by approximately 50% in 2002. November last year saw
the cancellation of its PowerSchool Enterprise product, a student information systems
product designed for larger school districts.
In the same month, former Apple Ed VP and PowerSchool chief, Cheryl Vedoe, announced
her resignation. Vedoe had previously been recruited back to Apple to head up Apple
Education.
Apple acquired PowerSchool for around $62 million in stock in 2001.
