Toast 5.2.1 updater posted
By ron carlson, Insanely Great Mac

After applying the updater, the app will ask the user for a 'valid' serial number
before it will run

Roxio has posted the v5.2.1 update (21.7MB) for its benchmark Toast CD and DVD
authoring application. Changes in this "new" version include:

 ...  CDDB2 submit function;
 ...  A fix for Toast online help formatting issues with the Jaguar help system;
 ...  Updated VCD export support for iMovie 3;
 ... Increased buffer size for better performance with the Pioneer DVD-R at 4X; and
 ... Resolution of an AppleScript error causing transfers from iView, Panic, CD
SpinDoctor not to run.

The downside is that after applying this updater you will be prompted to enter a
"valid" serial number and that number may be rejected through no fault of your own.

Editor's note: Well, at least the updater doesn't trash older functioning copies of
the app and Toast isn't yet "phoning home." However, how long will it be before these
"features" are added? Down the slippery slope we go...
