When it rains it pours. Two leading OS X-compatible utilities now offer new features
Morrison Design has announced FontDoctor and To The Point in turn has released Fontz
3.5. Both are utilities designed to manage fonts under OS X, but that's where the
similarities end.
Morrison describes FontDoctor as the industry standard software for font problem
diagnosis, repair and organization. FontDoctor is a professional software tool that
can locate and eliminate hard-to-find font problems that can wreak havoc system
performance and applications.
FontDoctor is available immediately and a single-user license sells for $70 and a site
license is tagged at $350. The company is offering those who purchase the app in the
last 30 days a $19.95 upgrade price.
The OS X version can be downloaded here. A Classic version is also available.
For its part, Fontz 3.5 is a utility that allows users to browse installed and
uninstalled fonts, as well as see what they look like at different type sizes, styles
and colors. The application also allows users to group fonts in like categories using
a "WYSIWIG" editor.
Fontz, which is shareware, is priced at $10 and can be downloaded here.
